Junji Miyata developed the prototype FRP bows through a lot of try & error, meanwhile he had to practice kyudo shooting for the world archery championships 1967.

After researching various kyudo tools mentioned former articles, Junji Miyata decided to replace bamboo of Uchi-Take and To-dake to FRP, which was already used in western archery bows to increase elasticity and strengthen weatherproof ability.

The prototype FRP bows showed the great performance, not only the long - distance flight ability, but also the performance of hitting accuracy were significantly improved.

Junji Miyata also used the arrows of Easton's aluminum shaft arrows with bird feathers.

Kyudo equipment of FRP kyudo bow and aluminum arrows, which have been in widespread use all over the world, were created as a result of the MIYATA's challenge for World the archery championships 1967.
