On June 25, 1967, the first day of the World Archery Championships 1967 held in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, began near noon after the opening ceremony. It was fine weather, but the wind was strong.

Junji Miyata's total score was 1,357 points, 129th out of 129 players. Junji Miyata have little experience in any competitions with these new glass fiber bows before this competition. The challenge with FRP Japanese bows and aluminum arrows was so new that trial and error continued until the day of the competition.

On the first day, the competition started from 90m, and at first MIYATA used a light hemp string (2 momme), but the accuracy of hitting was not as high as expected due to the influence of strong winds. Then he changed the heavier hemp strings (2.3 momme) at the 70m target, he gradually improved his results gradually. In the second round, he was not the last in all distances other than 50m, and in the longest distance of 90m, he placed 121st out of 129 world-class top archers. In the 70m, he placed 124th, and in the 30m, which is close distance to Kin-Teki in Kyudo, he placed 126th.

Junji Miyata resulted in the last place in total, but this was the valuable challenge of MIYATA's epoch-making FRP Kyudo bow and traditional Kyudo in the world archery championships.
